Move Afrika Kigali set for BK Arena on March 17

Kigali’s BK Arena is set to feel like a heartbeat on March 17, when Global Citizen brings Move Afrika 2026 to Rwanda as part of its third-year push to build a pan-African music touring circuit. Doja Cat is set to headline the Move Afrika Tour in 2026. The tour is also presented in partnership with pgLang and Kendrick Lamar, and continues to expand with Rwanda hosting alongside South Africa, followed by Move Afrika: Pretoria on March 20.

Beyond the stage, Move Afrika links live entertainment to jobs, skills and local supply chains. Since the program began, it has created over 2,500 jobs in Kigali and Lagos with more than 90 percent of crew and production roles filled by local talent. In Kigali, local crew participation rose from 75 percent in 2023 to 90 percent in 2025 with 95 percent of audio and lighting equipment sourced locally. Youth training has also expanded in rigging, security and hospitality, including 50 young people gaining paid, hands-on experience through the Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator.

Move Afrika 2026 also builds on citizen-led advocacy calling for stronger healthcare systems across Africa and Kigali’s stop is likely to keep that message moving, long after the lights go down.
