Grown in regions blessed with the perfect tropical climate—well-distributed rainfall, abundant sunshine, high-altitude terrain, and nutrient-rich acidic soils—Rwandan tea consistently stands out for its superior quality.

Renowned worldwide, Rwandan tea is celebrated for its robust strength, bright color, rich flavor, and reliable consistency. This reputation ensures that, week after week, it commands the highest prices at the prestigious Mombasa tea auction.

Black CTC tea is Rwanda’s leading variety, prized for its compatibility with popular black-tea blends across global markets. But that’s not all—Rwanda also produces green, white, orthodox, and organic teas, appealing to a wide range of discerning tea lovers.

Currently, more than 33,000 hectares of lush plantations in Rwanda’s Northern, Western, and Southern provinces are dedicated to tea production, a combination of smallholder farms and large estates known as Industrial Blocs (IB). Over 50,000 farmers are organized into 23 cooperatives, working alongside 19 privately owned factories to bring the finest tea to market.
