Rwanda showcased at the Taste of Rwanda Event during World Coffee Innovation Summit in the UK

Following the success of the UK-Rwanda Business Forum in January 2024, interest in strengthening trade relations between Rwanda and the UK increased significantly. In response, the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), in partnership with the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB), the High Commission of Rwanda in the UK, and the British High Commission in Kigali, organized the Taste of Rwanda event and participated in the World Coffee Innovation Summit in London from October 15-17, 2024.

These events, held at the Law Society and ExCeL London, aimed to promote Rwandan products such as coffee, tea, and horticultural goods, while also reinforcing trade ties between Rwandan exporters and UK importers. They provided an ideal platform for business-to-business networking, fostering potential partnerships, and exploring new opportunities for trade and investment between the two nations.

Key Objectives of Rwanda’s Participation:

  • Connecting Buyers and Sellers: Facilitating business deals and forging lasting relationships between Rwandan suppliers and UK buyers.
  • Strengthening Market Access: Identifying new avenues to increase Rwandan exports to the UK.
  • Showcasing Trade Opportunities: Highlighting Rwanda’s key sectors open for investment, including agriculture, processing, and manufacturing.
  • Networking Events: Organizing discussions and meetings to connect UK importers with Rwandan exporters.
  • Regulatory Insights: Offering guidance on UK export regulations and Rwanda’s business environment to support smooth market entry.
  • Sustainability Focus: Exploring opportunities for sustainable and inclusive growth in line with Rwanda’s development goals and the UK’s sustainability commitments.

Rwanda’s trade delegation included 20 exporters from sectors such as coffee, tea, chili, honey, fruits, and vegetables. The events attracted 45 British companies, offering a platform for showcasing Rwandan products, closing business deals, and building future partnerships.
