Rwanda’s Hospitality Sector Set for Strong Growth in 2025

Rwanda’s hospitality sector is set to receive a significant boost in 2025, with developers planning to add up to 218 new hotel rooms, reflecting growing confidence from international hotel brands. According to the W Hospitality Group’s latest report, these rooms are part of a larger pipeline of 474 planned hotel rooms, 46% of which are already under construction and expected to be completed this year. This marks a notable increase from 2024, when only 80 rooms were added.

Major international players such as SheratonMövenpickM Gallery, and Aleph Hospitality are entering the market, highlighting Rwanda’s rising appeal thanks to its political stability, business-friendly environment, and growing tourism potential. Of particular note, Zaria Court, backed by NBA executive Masai Ujiri, is preparing for a soft opening in June and an official launch in July.

Though Rwanda doesn’t rank among Africa’s top ten countries by hotel room count, it stands out as a high-potential destination in East Africa. With 28.8% of sub-Saharan Africa’s hotel pipeline concentrated in the region, the outlook for Rwanda is highly promising.

This strong momentum is an encouraging sign for investors and stakeholders alike, reinforcing Rwanda’s position as an emerging hub for quality hospitality and sustainable development.
