Skai Foods brings Rwandan Habanero Chili to new export markets
A Rwandan chili brand is turning habanero heat into an export-ready product line, one bottle at a time. Skai Foods Ltd, founded in 2021, produces Skai Chili Sauce and Skai Chili Oil from handpicked Rwandan habanero peppers. The company’s focus is clear: bold flavour, consistent standards and strong shelf stability that works for international supply chains.
This week, Skai Foods is bringing that story to the Paris International Agricultural Show, where it is exhibiting until 1 March. For buyers visiting the stand, the useful details show up quickly. Skai Foods says its chili sauce and chili oil are retail ready and export compliant. The products are available in 100ml and other formats, with customized packaging and private label options for international partners. That flexibility matters for importers and distributors who need to match local shelf requirements, language rules and brand strategies without changing the core product.
Skai Foods currently exports to Ghana, Kenya and Canada. In 2026, the company is targeting expansion into the United States and European markets, particularly the UK, France, Finland and Sweden, where it sees demand for its chili range.
On capacity, Skai Foods reports current production of 8,000 bottles per month. The company says it is positioned to scale within 12–24 months through expanded sourcing and increased production capacity if demand grows. Behind that scaling plan is a quality approach that starts at source. Skai Foods says it works with trusted local farmers for its habanero peppers and applies strict quality control through processing, hygienic packaging and final inspection before shipment.
Compliance is also part of the pitch. Skai Foods holds Rwanda Standards Board (S-Mark), Rwanda FDA and Ghana FDA certifications. The company says it is pursuing HACCP certification to further strengthen international food safety compliance.
“We are showcasing Skai Chili Sauce and Skai Chili Oil, made from premium Rwandan habanero peppers,” said CEO Soraya Vuningoma. With partnerships sought across importers, distributors and private label, Skai Foods is aiming to move from trade show conversations to first shipments, then repeat orders.
