SIA 2026 opens with fresh deals on the table
Rwanda is using its fifth appearance at the Paris International Agricultural Show to widen market access for its agricultural exports and meet new buyers face to face. The annual agriculture and livestock exhibition is taking place at Paris Expo–Porte de Versailles, where Rwanda is exhibiting in Pavillion Seven through the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB), the Embassy of Rwanda in France and Rwandan export companies.
In an interview with IGIHE, Janet Basiima, Export Market Development and Innovation Division Manager at NAEB, said Rwanda is focused on strengthening visibility while expanding markets. “We came with exporters showcasing tea, coffee, honey and other agricultural goods. Our participation is aimed at expanding markets for Rwanda’s agricultural and livestock products,” she said.
The delegation is also engaging importers who source products from Africa, with France still a key focus. Basiima noted France ranks fourth among destinations for Rwanda’s agricultural exports and that RwandAir’s three weekly flights to Paris help move products more easily to newly secured markets.
The exhibition opened on February 21 and was officially launched by French President Emmanuel Macron. NAEB says the show remains a practical place to exchange expertise, build partnerships and keep Rwanda’s export story moving forward.
